The Le Life Story ✨
It all began with a powerful bond between Toara Seule and Jacque.
Toara and his younger brother Thomas were well-known in their community—humble, creative, and full of big dreams. Their vision was clear: to create local opportunities, support better education and health, and build strong, lasting connections in the community. And with Jacque’s support, that vision began to take shape.
The Story of La Mer & Le Life 🌴
In 2013, La Mer opened its doors—something simple but meaningful. Not long after, the unthinkable happened: Toara passed away in December 2014, and Thomas followed soon after. It was a deep loss for everyone. Then, in 2015, Cyclone Pam hit and left La Mer in ruins. For 18 months, we did our best to keep going with what we had, slowly rebuilding from the ground up.
By June 2016, we were ready to begin again. With a new name, new energy, and the same dream in our hearts, Le Lifewas born. Today, the legacy of Toara and Thomas lives on through their children, extended family, and the local community. Together, we continue the work they started—supporting local projects focused on health, education, employment, and infrastructure.
Our Family 💛
Most of our team come from nearby villages or other islands in Vanuatu, and many share roots in Shepards Island. Their connection to the land, the culture, and each other is at the heart of everything we do.
Le Life isn’t just a workplace—it’s a family. We believe in keeping things simple, joyful, and honest. Our team is warm, welcoming, and full of life. They’ll not only make your stay special—they’ll stay with you long after you leave.
